Last year, I was only in Florence for the first few days of December, so I just had a glimpse of some of the lights and the Christmas tree before everything was officially turned on. This year, I spent more time in December in Florence and WOW! I got to see all the main streets in the center decorated, and it was beautiful! Most of the main squares have a Christmas tree with lights, there is a German Christmas Market near Santa Croce, and everywhere you look just makes you feel like you are in a storybook.
Always look up!
One night, we walked around just marveling at all the lights throughout the city. The main streets had so many lights, and some of the secondary streets were decorated as well. Even if it there were just a few lights, it really added some holiday cheer.

The main Christmas tree is near the Duomo. It is decorated with lights and giant ornaments, and makes for the perfect view!

There is a Christmas German market near Santa Croce every year, with tons of German goodies (mulled wine, sausages, etc.) and gifts. We headed here one day for lunch. It was even more magical at night time!
