While in Berlin, Germany, we got the opportunity to stay at 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin. Nestled next to the Berlin Zoo and not far from Tiergarten Park, 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin was a great base for exploring the city. After a 5-minute walk and a quick ride on the U-Bahn, Berlin’s subway, we were easily in the center of the city.

25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin is unique for a number of reasons. Playing off the idea of being located in an “urban jungle,” one side of the hotel overlooks the Berlin Zoo and the other side of the hotel overlooks the city. We stayed in a “Jungle Room” which overlooked the Berlin Zoo. The best part – the room was complete with a hammock next to the floor to ceiling window with a great view of the zoo! Relaxing here was the perfect way to rejuvenate while preparing for the day and to unwind at the end of a day of sightseeing.
The best place to decide how to spend the day!
Yes, the jungle rooms in the hotel have a hammock inside!
The comfort factor continued throughout the hotel, especially on the third floor where there was a large, flowing lounge that felt like a giant living room. With couches and hammocks placed throughout, it felt like it was straight out of a movie.
Seriously, how perfect are these hammocks in the lobby?!
The hotel boasts a number of splendors. The Monkey Bar on the top floor is a hotspot for nightlife. It is a cozy bar overlooking the Berlin Zoo, frequented by both locals and tourists. Featuring a fireplace and pillows, it’s a nice place to get a drink after a long day of exploring. We didn’t get to stop in there at night time, but there was always a crowd heading up to the top floor. Opposite The Monkey Bar, the hotel’s restaurant Neni has a hip, unique vibe with a terrace serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast was a mix of traditional hot German foods, as well as a ton of breads, meats, cheeses and smoothies. With a greenhouse feel, breakfast at Neni was a fantastic way to fuel our day ahead of us.

The hotel has a lot of local and artistic touches, some of which are obvious and some of which are subtle. The decor found in the rooms was sourced from flea markets (a typewriter in a room, binoculars hanging by the window), and there are whimsical doodles and drawings on the walls throughout the hotel by a Japanese artist, Yoshi Sislay. We even saw him working on some of the doodles while we were there! It was awesome to see him in action.

Yoshi Sislay’s doodles are found throughout the hotel, even in the rooms!
There’s a marketplace next to the reception area selling jewelry, postcards and other items created by local artisans, along with the option to purchase some of the hotel’s signature items found in the rooms. These small but powerful touches impart an excellent boutique hotel flare.
